Birds

Three panels. In the first panel, comic-Lucy is putting seeds into a bird feeder hanging from a tree while saying 'It will be lovely to have birds in the garden!'. The second panel shows a sulphur-crested cockatoo on a branch outside comic-Lucy's window. The bird is screeching 'Aaaaarrrrgggggghhhhh' and inside Lucy is in bed with a pillow over her face saying 'Dammit.' The third panel shows a hills hoist clothesline with a white sheet hanging on it. A sulphur-crested cockatoo is perched on the clothesline, and bird poo is streaked down the sheet. Comic Lucy watches and says 'Dammit'.
Two panels, the first large, the second regular sized. In the first, large panel, comic-Lucy stands near the bird feeder. A sulphur-crested cockatoo is perched on the feeder. It says 'You're a terrible person for feeding wild animals and making them reliant on humans'. In the final panel, a sulphur-crested cockatoo is perched on a wooden outdoor chair and is chewing it up. Comic Lucy watches and says 'Dammit'

True, doing good is sometimes misunderstood and causes us regret.

Sometimes a humming bird comes over for the flowers, the occasional hawk (those things are big), and there is a big beetle that visits daily, but we just exist in parallel XD

I feel called out! We has some adorable ground squirrels that lived on the opposite side of our complex fence, maybe 70 yards away. Their environment consists of shrived desert brush and dirt, so I occasionally tossed them carrot tops and expired walnuts. Well, 10 squirrels became 40 and we now play whack-a-mole-and-bury-the-hole every time we see the little buggers devouring my garden. Ah, nature, indeed.

I’m jealous because we don’t have squirrels here, but they seem so awesome.

Feeding sparrows is my favourite thing. I used (I can’t in my current house) to fill up the feeder and just have breakfast watching the tiny birds jump up and down.

Never fed large birds so never had an issue with them being super noisy though

I love friendly sparrows! I think noise depends more on the type of bird than the size. We have some lovely larger birds come in (and some fun small birds). But the cocktoos are a lot.
