Life and Blanket Forts

While building a blanket fort: "The strength of duct tape, the grace of a draped blanket, the comfort of pillows." Sitting in complete blanket fort: "I may not feel like the architect of my life, but I can always make this." Cat jumps on blanket fort and collapses it.

I love blanket forts but haven’t made one in SO long. I really need to. I think it could be a lot of fun. (I honestly think I’m going to as soon as I submit this comment. My brain is already trying to think of the best way to do it.)

And to answer your question, I’ve honestly been doing a bit shit lately. I feel like most people don’t really want such a honest answer when they ask that question, but it’s my truth right now so why not? Feelings of worthlessness and failure are my norm lately, and I’m finding it harder and harder to convince myself otherwise. But I will be visiting home in two months for Christmas, so I’ve been holding onto that bit of happiness to keep me going. Hope you’re doing well <3

I’m always okay with an honest answer to that question. I get a fair bit of worthlessness and failure myself, and it can be really difficult to deal with. I hope things improve for you soon.

I’m … alive? That’s usually how I answer that question these days. It’s been a rough year. I’m technically managing pretty well, considering.

We used to say we were making a kitty house. I still say that now though I mean I’m getting under my pinky blankie on the sofa. I sound nuts but I’m enjoying it! Love your drawings.

Another great cartoon Lucy! I’m not into blanke forts personally, (not judging either), its Halloween so I’m wearing the darkest black shirts I have and blasting Rob Zombie!

Sounds like you are living your best life just now! (I’m also not judging you for not being into blanket forts.)

Ha! I’ve just replied to a comment about camping, referring to it as grown-up ‘playing forts’. Blankies are there to make us feel safe as well as keep us warm. Cats are there to…….errr……remind me what’s the point of cats again? ;)

I haven’t built a blanket fort in a hundred years … and now suddenly I am overwhelmed with the desire to make one and fill it up with a heap of … something soft to lie on … sleeping bags! And a big pile of books, and chocolate. Oh man, it sounds like heaven.

I highly recommended. Watch out for cats though.

Cats aren’t a problem around here. But when a Belgian Malinois lands on your blanket fort the results are likely to be catastrophic.
